Circumventing Book Bans

These libraries provide free access to electronic resources and may be especially useful to those affected by local book censorship initiatives.

  • These resources may require renewal after 1 year.

  • A flexible relationship with the truth (especially your zip code and birthdate) will make you eligible at more libraries.

  • If an ebook is on Kindle Unlimited, it won’t be available in ebook format through a library due to licensing restrictions.

"And Then There’s Claude: AI-Amplified Epistemic Cascade and Critical Algorithmic Literacy"
AI chatbots are great at sounding objective and authoritative, but because Large Language Models (LLMs) operate on probabilistic text prediction rather than direct fact retrieval, that veneer hides inaccuracies, algorithmic biases, and hallucinations. This session introduces Critical Algorithmic Information Literacy (CAIL), a new framework designed to shift researchers from passive consumption to adversarial evaluation. We'll walk through the practical CAAT model for claim-centered epistemic evaluation, an epistemic audit process that reestablishes human authority and empirical accountability in digital research.
Attendees will leave with three scalable lateral reading activities you can use to demonstrate prompt influence, the boundaries of static data and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and aggressive citation auditing.
Registration is free for everyone.
